There is a movie out this week (caught the trailer a couple of weeks ago and was pretty sure it was Not My Thing), The Viceroy's House, about the Partition of India.
And really, after reading this article about how problematic it is (not that I didn't already have significant doubts), one is tempted to murmur that the Viceroy's house will never be dismantled by the Viceroy's tools...
But, I do not get any impression whatsoever that the well-known and widely-documented fact that Edwina Mountbatten had had a longstanding affair with Nehru features at all in the film. WOT.
Okay, I am not prepared, even FOR RESEARCH to sit through it just to see if it ever gets alluded to (because it doesn't sound the sort of movie where you'd actually see them at it in a cupboard in the Viceregal residence).
But, yeah, sanitised all round, seems like.
