Well, it's a different conspiracy theory
Oct. 29th, 2020 03:10 pmHad an email from a complete stranger who has Writ A Book.
Falling within that field of study within which yr hedjog has published, which, we may say, covers quite a lot of ground.
And I think what they really want from me is practical advice on the road to publication which, larf, I fair lay on the ground, because my experience with this is so idiosyncratic and I suspect atypical, and moreover it is some years since I have published An Academic Monograph, that I do not have any helpful tips or contacts -
- plus, literary agents/academic publishing, not really a thing except for a very few superstars like Late Rockstar Historian, academics are grateful for the crumbs swept up by ALCS (Authors' Licensing and Collecting Society).
(Let us not get into the vampiric horror that is academic journal publishing, shall we not?)
And anyway, the work involves A Conspiracy. And Royalty.
(O dear. Have lately come across this: The Prince, the Princess and the Perfect Murder: An Untold History dealing with a cause celebre a friend of mine has written on in, shall we say, rather more analytical and less sensationalist tones.)
Okay, not the Ripper, for which we may be grateful.
And is actually an unusual and new conspiratorial theory concerning the thing.
We are still, dare we say, just a leetle dubious as to the merits of the case being argued, but have endeavoured to be civil.
