That was, a major Windows 10 update at the weekend which, among other things, uninstalled AllMyNotes (now reinstalled, I hope it's actually pointing to the latest version of the database), reorganised the way things were arranged in File Explorer so I thought I'd actually lost files (or at least, that files that I thought were both in OneDrive AND synced to my desktop were only in the cloud), and also did something to my printer driver. I think I have fixed the latter - yes! we can print! (And that is what I have so far discovered in the last two days, there may be more to come.)

Poor show, what?

This may be one reason why I had that recurrent dream of Place that I was in not very long ago - i.e. hours or even minutes, not even days - that things have vanished from when I return: in two iterations of same, last night.

This rather impinges upon any state of serenity achieved by a sojourn at Grayshott.

My partner found that the update fucked up Bitdefender - it was still nominally running (?) but definitely not doing it's usual 'protect the user' bit. Sunday morning phone calls: ugh. (All sorted now, had to be reinstalled, but it was less than ideal.)

We haven't tried the printer yet, so thanks for the heads-up that there may be more broken stuff..

Thanks for the warning. My windoz machine is off at the repair shop. I presume it will be a pain when it gets back.

Just loaded Linux Magiea 6 on my old, old machine (which had Magiea 4 on it, now not supported). Even though it was NOT an upgrade, but a whole fresh load of the program, my files were untouched and perfectly integrated in "Documents", Firefox had left a file with all my bookmarks and tool bar on the desktop and I was politely questioned if I wanted the new Firefox to integrate the info. I did have to re-install my screen saver, tell numlock to stay engaged and I haven't tried to print yet, but installing printers is easy.
