The ongoing spammity-spam saga

My dearios will have heard me whinge about the massive point thahr misst of so much spam I get offering deals and collaborations with my entirely non-profit and very niche personal website -

- and that sometimes one can see that they've picked up on a word or even a phrase but have totally missed CONTEXT quite apart from the fact that I am Not In Trade, perish the thort, not to mention that they tend to miss what one might consider obvious links.

But, lo, I am boggling like a boggling thing over this:

I don't think I've even got anything on the site relating to e.g. 'pretty horsebreakers' in Victorian England or, indeed, wot abaht bestiality. Or I have a vague recollection that the annals of Victsmut here and there include ponyplay but I don't actually Go There.

I am boggled but in a different way by the spam from a mirror factory in Hangzhou city which informs me that ' it only takes more than ten minutes to drive from our company. I can show you our factory at any time and give you quick feedback to inform you of the production progress.' Pretty sure it does only take more than 10 mins....

I mean, if you have access to some kind of teleportation system it might take only 10 minutes? Honestly, I'm just impressed with these spammers xD

In which case, you'd think they'd be spamming people about that, rather than their manky ol' mirrors!

Just wait for the email from the loving mum of a boy scout whose sprog has really gotten into {insert subject of your website here} and has written an article on same that she'd love you to post a link to, quickly please because he's being judged for his Boy Scout's {subject} badge on Monday and it will really impress his Scout Master.

Said article inexplicably being hosted on a page advertising yachts to buy and sell...

One of my co-administrators fell for it, but I am naturally suspicious. So there's a yacht broking website out there on the web with an unloved article on tracking your immigrant ancestors written by AI, just like the letter form the 'loving mum'.

Given the sort of thing that is on my site, and that I was once on telly with Ian Hislop talking about a Certain Preoccupation of Lord Baden-Powell's that he warned Scouts about, I would be larfing like drayn if this happened to me.

The stretches of logic, or leaps thereof, that spammers allow their computers to make is sometimes a spectacle all of its own.

Years ago for some reason I kept getting adverts on Twitter for hospital-grade artificial respiration equipment for very fat people. That's the weirdest one I can remember.

I have had some molto bizarre ones on FB - particularly when I click on 'why am I seeing this' and how they got from that to this does not compute, seriously.
