Pleasant explorations
Jun. 16th, 2008 05:59 pmI was given a lovely excursion around Minneapolis today by the lovely
1crowdedhour.
We went to Coldwater Spring:
Which as you can see from these photos is lovely.
We then went to Minnehaha Falls:
whence we walked along the creek as far as the Mississippi River:
Among the other beauties of nature we saw a number of dragonflies.
We also saw this amazing water tower
with its stern Guardians of Hygiene:
and were not entirely sure that swords were the appropriate implement for guardians of hygiene to carry - perhaps a vaccination needle?
We also took in the Peavy Fountain erected to the memory of the horses killed in World War I:
Besides these pleasures, there was delicious Latin American fusion food and mango ices, as well as delightful conversation. I could not think of a nicer way to spend a day (and it was a lovely day, bright and sunny yet with an agreeable breeze).

Date: 2008-06-17 10:16 pm (UTC)I feel slightly less awful, in that light, about having to say that I am so entangled in revisions and trying to help out with last-minute 4th Street stuff (I live with the person who's chairing it) that I don't know when we could get together. Except at the convention. Can we set something up? I'll be arriving in time for opening ceremonies, I expect, and generally around for the whole weekend. Or we could figure it out by email. I'm pddb at demesne dot com.
